Six things to do with the kids this half term holiday

Half term at Liverpool’s World Museum
Liverpool’s World Museum are hosting a wide range of events to keep the kids happy this half term. There will be 1960s events, where kids can find out more about the city’s iconic bands and Summer of Love crafternoons. Next door at the Walker Art Gallery, kids can create their very own stained glass and there will also be afternoon rhymes and stories. Find out more here.

Pirate Adventure
Head along to the East Lancashire Railway in Bury on Thursday June 1 for a Pirate Adventure. The nautical adventure will feature interactive characters, pirate themed activities and plenty of photo opportunities. Kids will be able to learn everything that they will need to know about being the perfect pirate as they battle the enemy and attempt to break an ancient curse. Find out more here.

Mattel Play
Mattel Play on Liverpool’s Albert Dock is a great place to head to if the kids are big fans of Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam, as they will be giving daily appearances throughout the half term holiday. The kids will be able to meet Thomas the Tank and ride on miniature locomotives, as well as helping digging with Scoop at Bob’s workshop and becoming a shopkeeper in Dilys’ grocery store. Discover Space
Discover Space, taking place at Manchester Central on May 31 and June 1, is a free event with the aim of getting kids excited about space and science. The event will host a series of fun and educational activities alongside talks, shows and hand-on interactive exhibits to inspire the younger generation and make them think about careers in science and technology. Little Notes
Head along to Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall with the kids to take part in Little Notes. Suitable for 3-5 year olds, the event will help your child to explore pitch and rhythm by using songs and fun activities in a bid to develop their creativity. The kids will also have the opportunity to explore percussion instruments and learn about the Orchestra. Find out more here.

Half term at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House
Families will have the opportunity to explore the gardens at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House in Manchester this half term. The whole gang will be able to enjoy the Garden Explorers Trail and on May 31, artist Fay Buchanan will lead a family art workshops, where you will all be able to make clay creations inspired by the surroundings.
