Adventure centre swallowed by Velocity Leisure

Otterspool Adventure Centre in south Liverpool has been acquired by fast-growing Velocity Leisure, taking its total headcount to more than 200.

Velocity, which operates two Velocity Trampoline Parks across Widnes and Wigan, with a third venue opening in Speke, Merseyside later this year, alongside children’s soft play venues Funtown and Spaceworld, has taken over the outdoor activity centre in a bid to “complement its current indoor offering”.

Ahead of major alteration plans, the s adventure haven owned by husband and wife duo Steven and Cheryl Cosgrove is currently home to one of Europe’s largest aerial assault courses and features a multitude of high-adrenaline activities including high ropes, climbing, abseiling, maze and a Powerfan jump.

Managing director Steven Cosgrove said: “Having established a leisure brand that caters for all ages, our portfolio focuses predominantly on indoor activities – these being soft play fun for tots, trampolining, climbing walls and Ninja Warrior assault courses for children and teens, without forgetting our novel exercise classes for adults.

“With that in mind, we wanted to further extend our broad spectrum of fun for all the family and introduce a unique taste of the great outdoors.

“Using our extensive experience within the leisure industry, our takeover at Otterspool Adventure Centre will go on to add a new dimension to the adrenaline-pumping outdoor activities that have been tailored to entertain and challenge.”
