The firm, which has offices in Altrincham, Media City and Liverpool, will add Lymm as a result of the acquisition.

W H Lill’s 15 staff will join MLP, taking its total staff numbers to 46, with 27 lawyers and 19 support staff.

As part of the deal W H Lill partners Michael Jackson and Seb Jackson will join MLP. Jackson, a solicitor and qualified mediator, will join as a consultant and member of the senior management team, while Jackson will consult in an interim capacity to help manage the business integration and client relationships.

On the back of the acquisition, MLP Law is forecasting a projected growth of around £1m over the next year, increasing revenue from £2.1m to over £3m.

Stephen Attree, managing partner of MLP, said: “We have been experiencing solid year-on-year growth. This acquisition is fundamental to achieving our business objectives and continued success.”

Michael and Seb Jackson said in a joint statement: “MLP has a strong management team and the culture of a client-focused service that we place great value in. Their recent recruitment and investment in leading IT infrastructure has ideally positioned the business to meet the challenges of modern legal advice.”
