Altrincham Business Park to get £1m revamp

18 Edwards Court

CEG has unveiled a million pound refurbishment of Altrincham Business Park attracting a ground breaking new tenant to the Greater Manchester site.

American company, GrandCare Systems, has taken 2,516sq ft on a five-year lease within 8 Edward Court as its UK head office.

The company delivers systems and monitoring programmes which enable vulnerable and elderly people to remain in their home.

Supplying the NHS, care homes and individuals around the UK, GrandCare Systems provides large, easy to use touchscreens offering social communications, instructions, reminders, medication prompts and web-based entertainment.

Caregivers can also access the system and wireless activity sensors, environmental sensors and digital health devices can also be integrated, notifying caregivers by telephone, email or text if anything is amiss.

Matthew Warnes for GrandCare said: “We fully anticipate that we will be expanding our business shortly and Altrincham Business Park gives us the flexibility to do this.

“Whilst being situated so close to the motorway network allows both ourselves to travel easily and a skilled work force to reach us. We look forward to many fruitful years ahead helping people in the UK stay independent in their own homes for longer.”

CEG took on management of Altrincham Business Park earlier this year following acquisition of the site.

CEG is set to refurbish the reception, frontage and common areas of this building later this year, along with improvements to the public realm across the park.

One of the most established business parks in affluent Altrincham, it is home to McCarthy & Stone, Health Management, Lakesmere and Thermo Electron. Nearby facilities include Altrincham Retail Park offering high street shops and restaurants and a supermarket.

Robert Morton, investment manager at CEG, said: “We managed the acquisition of Altrincham Business Park earlier this year as we saw the opportunity this well-located and well-serviced site offered. It is in a great location, close to the motorway, with rail/tram links into Manchester and Chester, providing great accessibility to a large workforce.

“This, coupled with our investment into public realm, landscaping and building frontages and interiors, it will be a very attractive destination and we are confident it will be fully-let in the coming months.”

Property agents Savills, WHR and Canning O’Neil are marketing the remaining 9,274sq ft office within One St Georges Square and the three remaining self-contained units. Architect Space Invader has designed the building refurbishment. Work will begin on this and the public realm improvements soon.
