Plans unveiled for Lake District development

Stonecross Meadows

Developer Jones Homes has announced plans to build 110 homes in Kendal.
The privately-owned housebuilder has acquired 5.17 hectares of land on Milnthorpe Road and has planning permission for a residential development of 110 new build homes, including 38 affordable properties.

Known as Stonecross Meadows, the new development will include three, four and five bedroom detached and semi-detached properties.

To complement the natural lie of the land in the area, the housebuilder will also introduce two new split level housetypes at Stonecross Meadows, designed exclusively for this development.

Managing director at Jones Homes Gary Hardy said: “We are delighted to have secured land in Kendal and have the opportunity to showcase our homes in this enviable location on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

“Kendal is a thriving market town and a highly desirable place to live and work, or own a second home. Our Stonecross Meadows development promises to offer an array of highly specified new homes in an attractive semi-rural setting.

“ We’ve already received a great deal of interest in the scheme and anticipate properties being in high demand once they are officially released for sale.”

Stonecross Meadows is Jones Homes’ first development in south Lakeland.

Underlining its commitment to the region, Jones Homes has already committed to contribute more than £300,000 towards improving educational facilities in the town and improvement of local highways
