People on the Move: Landwood Property Auctions; Auger; GF Holding; TLT; Cabfind; Pegasus Group

Directors Mark Bailey, James Ashworth and Helen Jude with Kate Lay

Landwood Property Auctions has made a key appointment in Kate Lay, who took charge of her first online auction for the company last week.

Ms Lay, who recently took a brief career break to have her daughter, has joined as director and is vastly experienced in property auctions having worked in the sector for more than 15 years.

She said: “Thanks to the team hosting two of these already since the business launched earlier this year, we know the online platform works well for our clients, allowing plenty of competitive bidding from the comfort of people’s homes and offices.”

Working for Sutton Kersh auctions before setting up her own successful independent auction business in 2008, Ms Lay was headhunted by Pugh and Co to head up the residential side of the business and was a prominent member of the management team before leaving in 2017.

She joins James Ashworth on the Landwood Property Auctions team. He joined from Pugh and Co earlier this year, bringing more than 25 years’ experience in the industry with him.

Mark Bailey, of Landwood Group, said: “This is exciting news for us. Kate brings a wealth of knowledge and the team now has a combined 30 years’ experience of concentrating on property auctions.

“They’ve personally dealt with more than 8,000 auction lots and I’m delighted that we’re able to offer clients and customers of the business access to such an array of market-leading knowledge and expertise.”

With offices in Manchester, London, Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham, Landwood Group was established in 2008 by Mark Bailey and Richard Parkinson. It provides expert advice on property, plant and machinery and business assets, conducting sales of business assets.

Cabfind has appointed Tim Jordan on a fixed-term consultancy contract to help drive the company’s ambitious growth targets.

As a founding partner at Cabfind he helped shaped the company, securing contracts with several rail, freight and travel management companies.

Following the acquisition of Cabfind by global mobility solutions provider Transdev in 2015, he took the decision to step away from the travel industry to focus on his own personal ambitions.

After success with his consultancy business and a published novel on the way, he felt the time was right to return to the travel industry.

Managing director Lee Wasnidge said: “As a founding partner Tim helped build the footings on which Cabfind stand today.

Cabfind has always been a home for Tim, so as soon as we knew he was interested in providing his support, I was pleased to welcome him back.”

Birkenhead-based Cabfind provides a managed taxi service to many organisations from leading travel management companies to corporate businesses and SMEs, with specialist expertise in the rail, media and logistics sectors.

Mr Jordan said: “We have some very ambitious targets to hit and I’m looking forward to working with the team to help realise those goals.”
