AVSL expands to new TraffordCity facility

Consumer electrical trade supplier AVSL has expanded its operations taking a new lease of an 82,000 sq ft bespoke facility on the Bridgewater Estate in TraffordCity.

This will give the family-run business the opportunity to launch its first trade counter later this year.

AVSL, which is this year predicted to turn over £16.5m, supplies more than 3,000 electrical products to in excess of 1,500 trade customers across the UK and abroad, and is now set to diversify its offering into the construction sector.

Peel Land and Property, which owns and manages the development, has invested £1.1m into the facility which will enable the relocation of its existing headquarters and allow AVSL to achieve its expansion plans.

Graham Purdy, AVSL’s operations director, said: “These are exciting times for AVSL.

“After 18 years at the Container Base site our relocation comes on the back of one of our most successful trading years to date.

“The timing of the move couldn’t have been better.

“We are continually adapting to market trends by sourcing and supplying the latest gadgets and high tech products and by launching our trade counter we can evolve the business to the next level.”

Paul Chappels, head of asset management TraffordCity, said: “Works have now started on the Container Base site to make way for the new £41m Williams Group Retail Centre and we have worked hard to ensure AVSL’s transition to their new headquarters has been seamless.

“AVSL is a homegrown success story and we’ve been delighted to provide their team with a new facility they can be proud of. It will give them a fantastic springboard for their exciting expansion plans.”
