Chef has been celebrating as his restaurant is named best in Manchester

Award winning chef Adam Reid has been named as the best place to eat in Manchester by the prestigious Good Food Guide.
Adam Reid at the French, which is based in The Midland Hotel, came 13th in the list of the top 50 restaurants in the UK.
There were no other Manchester restaurants in the list of top eateries but Simon Rogan’s L’Enclume in Cumbria was named as the second best restaurant in the UK.
Fantastic news! We have been placed #13 in the 2019 @GoodFoodGuideUK. We are thrilled to be in the Top 15, 4 places up from our ranking last year, and we remain the only restaurant in Manchester in the #Top50. A great achievement for our team! #GFG #GFG2019 #GoodFoodGuide pic.twitter.com/roqoGusoK3

The two chefs’ careers have been linked for many years. Simon Rogan ran the French at the Midland and Adam worked as his head chef before taking charge of the restaurant.
Moor Hall in Lancashire also features on the list along with Fraiche in Merseyside.
The French was the last restaurant in Manchester to have a coveted Michelin star back in 1974 and Adam is determined to restore past glories.
Adam has been cooking since his childhood and is now recognised as one of the best chefs in the country.
The 33-year-old father of two has brought his own relaxed style to the restaurant, which has long been considered the best in the city.
There are three set menus and Adam, who found fame through his appearance on The Great British menu, is keen to create a relaxed atmosphere while offering the finest food.
He said: “Our aim has always been to give people a great experience in an enjoyable atmosphere, we want people to come along and enjoy themselves.
“We aim to be the very best at what we do but when people come out to eat at the restaurant they want to have a good time.”

Adam is thrilled that his venue is considered the best in the city but believes it is a recognition of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.
He said: “I have a great team and we are all completely committed to serving up great food.
“The food that we serve is at the centre of everything but we also have to create the right atmosphere and setting.”
Adam is well aware that Manchester needs a Michelin star but he has the best chance of putting that right.
He said: “I want to be one of the best restaurants not just in in Manchester but in the whole of the country.
“The fact that we have three AA Rosettes and have been ranked 13th in the Good Food Guide probably means that we are getting that.
“I am sure that if we keep working hard and maintaining our standards we will stand a chance of winning a Michelin Star at some stage.”
The BusinessDesk.Com is holding an Executive Lunch at the restaurant next Wednesday and Emma Degg from the North West Business Leadership Team is our guest speaker.
Adam will also be speaking about his vision and ambitions at the special lunch.
The event promises to be a memorable occasion and will give people the chance to sample Adam’s award winning food.
