Wirral Chamber of Commerce has expanded its business reach by opening a new satellite office in Hoylake.

Located in refurbished offices at the iconic former town hall building in Market Street, the Wirral Chamber of Commerce (West Wirral) branch opened for business this week with a launch attended by 75 invited businesses.

With its main headquarters in Birkenhead, Wirral Chamber of Commerce is keen to engage with more businesses through establishing a more visible presence, which will also provide easier access for businesses in west of Wirral to visit and work directly with the Chamber.

Chamber chief executive, Paula Basnett, said: “From here we will be able to offer significant services and support in enabling us to better serve the needs of our membership and to help businesses in the area.

“I would encourage any businesses that are looking at support for growth or new business opportunities to come along to the Wirral Chamber of Commerce West Wirral office and talk to us.”

Andy Snell, head of strategic partnerships at the Chamber is leading the initiative and has placed member business needs at the heart of it: “We will be working with our established partners in West Wirral, NW Security Group, UTS, The Tallents Partnership, for example, but also those with a broader geographical reach that are keen to serve west Wirral more closely, such as Westfield Health and Kingsbridge Insurance who are partnering with us on the launch of this new office.”

Andrew Hess of Kingsbridge Insurance Brokers said: “We are proud to be partnering and supporting Wirral Chamber of Commerce in opening the new office.

“Having worked with the Chamber and a number of their members we have seen first hand the positive impact they have with the local business community and hope to see this success replicated in West Wirral.”

This view was echoed by Cllr Phil Davies, leader of Wirral Council, who added: “Wirral Chamber of Commerce has made a genuine impact for the area, providing Wirral and its business community with a strong and effective resource in developing and implementing initiatives and support which has added great value to economic growth within the Liverpool City Region.

“I am confident that the West Wirral Chamber office will form new and effective business partnerships and offer productive support to businesses located in this region of Wirral.”

The opening of the Chamber office also offers support to the development of The Beacon, a development project, which has received planning approval and will comprise leisure, cultural and business features and amenities.

This will include a cinema/arts space with a fine dining restaurant and associated cafe/bistro, atrium cafe/bar, together with retail units around a central courtyard.

Additionally, there will be retail units for artists and makers, together with 40 apartments on four levels above the ground floor area.

Mark Howard, of Hoylake Village Life, said: “It is exciting news that Wirral Chamber of Commerce will be opening its new office in Hoylake.

“This will create a range of business opportunities, particularly, those which are operating from locations throughout West Wirral.

“We are especially pleased that the Chamber has shown its commitment and confidence in the Hoylake Beacon scheme and we look forward to working with them as the project emerges as an enterprise engine that will encourage business development and growth for businesses and creative industries, in particular.”

Since re-launching in 2014, Wirral Chamber of Commerce has enjoyed considerable achievements in membership growth, recruiting key patron and strategic partners, providing effective training courses, gaining British Chambers of Commerce accreditation, and export documentation services, together with an asset portfolio providing high quality business accommodation.

The new office will be open from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
