Jones Homes will invest £1.7m in infrastructure for Congleton and build a total of 232 homes after purchasing a second parcel of land on Manchester Road.

The first phase of 137 homes at Westlow Heath is well under way.

Jones Homes has now secured adjoining land, where an additional 95 homes will be built.

Contributions to be made through planning agreements for Westlow Heath will now exceed £1.7m.

This includes more than £1.1m to support local schools, £457,000 for road improvements, £98,000 for ecological measures, and £85,000 to improve green open spaces in Congleton.

Gemma Pownall, sales and marketing director for Jones Homes North West, said: “Congleton sits within Jones Homes’ Cheshire heartland and we are pleased to have made a commitment to build more new homes in the town.

“Westlow Heath is delivering a wide variety of homes, with three- to five-bedrooms, which are helping people to move onto, up or along the housing ladder.”

She said: “It has been popular with first-time buyers, growing families and those looking to move from an older property and benefit from all a new home has to offer.

“We have worked hard to ensure we are delivering a range of homes to meet the needs of people living in Congleton.”

“Our planning contributions will ensure the infrastructure is in place to support the community as it grows and will deliver benefits to people throughout Congleton.”

Four- and five-bedroom homes are currently available at Westlow Heath, with prices ranging from £269,950 to £459,950.
