Plans submitted for £55m Urban Splash scheme at Wirral Waters

Proposed Urban Splash development at Wirral Waters

Peel L&P and regeneration company Urban Splash have formally submitted a planning application to Wirral Council to build a £55m development of modular homes at Wirral Waters.

The waterside residential quarter will bring the House by Urban Splash to Merseyside for the first time, with 347 modular, factory-built homes planned.

Each of the homes will be customisable by purchasers before being created offsite in the Urban Splash modular factory and then delivered to site.

Richard Mawdsley, director of development at Peel L&P, said: “We have entered in to a joint venture with Urban Splash to deliver this project because it is unique in that it will bring the very latest in modular housing design and innovation to Wirral Waters.

“If approved, our Urban Splash development will not only tackle the housing crisis and take the pressure off our greenbelts, but it will transform the site into a highly contemporary, internationally-recognised waterside residential quarter for families, individuals and couples wanting to make Wirral Waters their home.”

Simon Humphreys of Urban Splash added: “This new residential quarter is an exciting transformation for Merseyside and we’re delighted to be contributing to this emerging neighbourhood, bringing a wide choice of modern, innovative new homes for people to live in.

“We look forward to working through the planning stage and commencing with the development of these unique modular homes.”
