Digital network specialist invests £1m in move to new HQ facilities

TNP's new headquarters

Public sector digital network specialist TNP (The Networking People) has created a new state-of-the-art headquarters in Lancaster as the next step in the company’s ambitious growth plans.

TNP develops and supports digital network solutions for public sector and commercial clients, spanning local authorities, health trusts and education institutions across the UK.

It was previously based at Infolab21 on the Lancaster University campus where the company was created, and plans to maintain links with the university.

In 2018 TNP purchased offices on Caton Road in Lancaster and has spent more than six months refurbishing the building and shaping it to meet the company’s specific needs.

The new head office will house more than 50 employees including new staff joining the company as a result of a recruitment drive and graduate engagement scheme launched in 2018.

The actual move to the new head office was carefully managed to ensure a seamless transition without impacting on the service delivery to TNP’s customer base.

TNP says it is now one of the country’s leading independent digital network specialists and has grown year-on-year since its inception in 2012.

It develops and supports digital network solutions for public sector and commercial clients, spanning local authorities, health trusts and education institutions across the UK.

The company provides a complete range of network services from engineering, connectivity and the supply of hardware through to security resilience and support.

Its consultancy services include advising organisations and institutions on moving to Cloud-services and assessing the Cloud-ready status of their network.

More than £1m has been invested in refurbishing the offices.

The project involved creating a new internal layout that includes facilities for hi-tech network engineering along with creative breakout and group working areas to encourage the collaborative approach to problem solving and service delivery that has proved such an important element of TNP’s success.

The building also benefits from resilient superfast 10Gbs fibre connectivity to TNP’s national core network, enabling staff to respond more effectively to client needs.

Commercial director Chris Wade said: “A move into a larger facility near to the centre of Lancaster seemed the natural next step for TNP.

“The new location provides easy access to the city itself, and has the advantage of main line rail connections and the M6 junction just a couple of minutes away.”

He added: “TNP has a strong public sector customer base in the North West, working with councils and health authorities across Lancashire, Cumbria, Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.

“We also support clients across the UK including the Highlands and Islands in Scotland, so good transport links are very important to us.

“We are now able to project our collaborative corporate ethos through the new headquarters, and attract new staff to the quality of life in Lancaster, a vibrant city with the beautiful Lancashire countryside and the Lake District within easy reach.

“Our company is seeking experienced engineers to join our developing team to help grow the business as we explore exciting new opportunities to help the public sector meet the challenges of ensuring their networks are fit for purpose and able to deliver Cloud-services for staff and the general public.”
