Liverpool investment management and stockbroking firm, Blankstone Sington, has unveiled the new team which will be managing its award-winning inheritance tax service.

The new team includes Paul Williams, chief investment officer, who will be leading the firm’s research efforts in respect of AIM stocks, Neil Blankstone, lead investment manager who will be driving the overall investment strategy of the service and overseeing operations around the service, as well as senior analyst Jane Drake, investment manager Sally Greenwood, with Vanessa Doyle and Nicola Sharkey as front office administration.

The reshuffle follows the departure of Stephen English and Phil Kirwan who join Stellar Asset Management at the end of this month as its first AIM fund managers.

Stephen English managed Blankstone’s AIM IHT service since it was established in 2010, supported by Kirwan, who was also a portfolio manager.

They will work from a new office opened by Stellar in Liverpool, the first to be opened by the firm outside London.

Established in 2010 in response to client demand, Blankstone Sington’s inheritance tax service has flourished, winning awards and being judged by independent investment advisory and investment research group MJ Hudson Allenbridge as “worthy of consideration by investors who seek a managed AIM portfolio for estate planning purposes, or indeed as an investment in its own right for those investors who already hold a diversified portfolio.”

Neil Blankstone, business development director at Blankstone Sington, said: “Blankstone Sington’s inheritance tax service has been lauded as an investment worthy proposition, and a great deal of thanks must go to the previous team that set up and ran the service.

“We have appreciated all their efforts and wish them well as they move on.”

He added: “The new, yet experienced, team we have put in place means we are positioned to enhance the quality of our inheritance tax service still further.

“At the centre of our new approach will sit Blankstone Sington’s core investment philosophy of nimble, high conviction, active investing with risk control at the heart of our actions.

“We look forward to providing investors with further value and capital growth potential in the months and years ahead.”
