Plans for a 138,000 sq ft industrial development at Speke’s Triumph Business Park have been approved.

The Park was acquired by InfraRed Capital Partners in 2019 for £30m and work will now start next month of the £15m speculative scheme. Triumph Business Park site is a major storage, distribution and commercial hub and this development will take its total footprint up to nearly 1m sq ft.

The Spitfire Court scheme will add 12 Grade A industrial units of between 3,000-34,000 sq ft and is scheduled to be completed within a year.

Dean Harrison, Investment Director at InfraRed Capital Partners, commented: “The greater turn to e-commerce during the recent months has increased demand for modern, high-quality urban logistics assets, which this project delivers. ”

It will be developed by Network Space Developments in the latest tie-up between the two companies.

InfraRed has just bought part of Network Space’s Mere Grange development on the edge of St Helens town centre for £17.6m.

Network Space Development director Joe Burnett said: “We are delighted that planning has been approved for a scheme that brings significant logistical and economic benefits to the Liverpool City Region.

“This is the next chapter in this regeneration success story for the former Triumph factory site.”
