Triple land deals will boost new homes supply
Taylor Wimpey Manchester is expanding its landholding with three new site acquisitions across Manchester and Cheshire.
Acquiring 45 acres of land, the new sites will be situated in Middleton and Middlewich.
The two sites in Middleton are both adjacent to existing Taylor Wimpey developments – one at Hollins Lane and one at Langley Lane.
With demand for new homes on the rise, and a continued undersupply of new homes being built in the North West and across the UK, the proposed delivery of 493 new homes – 89 in Middleton and 404 in Middlewich – will be welcomed by many.
Construction is expected to begin this Spring on the Middleton sites, while construction on the new site in Middlewich is scheduled to commence in Autumn 2021, pending approval of a reserved matters planning application.
Taylor Wimpey Manchester will make a £5m donation to Cheshire East Council as part of the Section 106 agreement, towards the delivery of the Middlewich Eastern Bypass.
Gareth Bancroft, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey Manchester, said: “The demand for quality family housing in these areas continues to rise and we’re thrilled to be able to move forward with plans to bring more high quality housing to Middleton and Middlewich.
“We pride ourselves on building communities as well as homes and are looking forward to speaking to nearby residents about their priorities for the new developments.”
