Law firm JMW has signed up to additional office space in Spinningfields, Manchester.

The firm has agreed terms on a lease for a further 5,188 sq ft of grade A office space at Mapletree’s 3 Hardman Street and a further floor of office accommodation at Kings House in Bank, London.

JMW’s commercial teams in Manchester now occupy the fourth floor of the Spinningfields building since moving their Real Estate team from the head office at 1 Byrom Place at the end of 2017.

JMW was advised on the lease by Andrew Timms of Edwards & Co and Mapletree’s 3 Hardman Street, Manchester was represented by Richard Lowe of Savills.

The fit out of the new office space was undertaken by ADT Workplace working with Real Estate Commercial Partner Thomas Pearson. The Commercial Litigation and Corporate Recovery & Insolvency teams moved into the new space at the start of February 2021.

Fiona Lyons, Asset Manager at Mapletree, said: “JMW has been a part of the 3 Hardman Street community since 2017 and we are delighted it has taken further space with us, as part of its expansion plans.

“JMW’s commitment to 3 Hardman Street is a testament to our occupier-centric ethos which underpins the environment we provide for our 4,000-strong working population.

“Over the past two years, we have invested considerably in refurbishing parts of the building and launched a community portal for our occupiers, 3HardmanLife, which has proved hugely popular.”

JMW have also expanded its office space in London taking a third floor in Kings House which is situated in the business district of Bank.

They have taken a further 3,500 sq ft of office accommodation which now sees them occupy half of Kings House. The firm opened a London office in May 2019 and now has more than 90 partners, welcoming 39 people in the last six months alone.

Joy Kingsley, Senior Partner said: “We are pleased to have taken on additional office space at 3 Hardman Street in Spinningfields to house our commercial offering in Manchester. It made sense to bring all our commercial teams together on one floor, allowing them to work together for our clients.

“The new office space supports our continued growth and 3 Hardman Street is also very close to our space at 1 Byrom Place.  The additional accommodation highlights our continued growth and investment for the future.

“Due to our continued further recruitment in London, we have decided to take an additional floor in Kings House to accommodate partners and staff. Our third floor of office accommodation means that there is room for further expansion for all our departments in London.”
