Party planner’s lockdown business scores raft of new clients

Liz Taylor

A brand management company launched in lockdown by event entrepreneur and TV’s ‘Millionaire Party Planner’ Liz Taylor has secured more than £150,000 worth of new business.

The founder and MD of Manchester-based event planners the Taylor Lynn Corporation (TLC) decided to draw on her 30 years plus experience to launch a personal management company, Liz Taylor Consultancy, when the country went into lockdown last year.

The consultancy offers services to the hotel, event venue and hospitality sector.

Clients are a mix of independent and branded businesses, including GG Hospitality’s Hotel Football and Stock Exchange Hotel, owned by football player turned entrepreneurs Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, Victor’s Restaurants, Tom Kerridge’s Bull and Bear, Lone Star Boutique Hotel & Suites – Barbados, and Feast Kosher Catering.

In the last year, the consultancy has secured more than £150 000 worth of new business and is projecting to double this in 2021-22 as it broadens its services to support luxury retail brands, fashion companies and financial businesses.

“The idea of a consultancy was conceived in 2018, but the business was certainly born in lockdown,” said Liz.

“I had time on my hands and wanted to remain positive and focussed, so invested my energy into fully launching the company.

“Using my 35 years’ experience as a luxury event planner, and having worked within the wider hospitality sector, I felt that I could provide a unique insight into how an event venue or hospitality company could develop new revenue ideas to target the discerning buyer.”

Liz added: “Although it has been a challenging time to launch any new business, for me, it’s been a great focus and has allowed me to remain positive and productive.  I am optimistic that 2021-22 will see us continue to grow, as the event and hospitality sector starts to re-emerge.”
