Further development approved for Runcorn industrial estate

Proposals for Astmoor Point

Chorley property and asset management company, FI Real Estate Management (FIREM), has received outline planning for its new development at Astmoor Industrial Estate in Runcorn, which will be named Astmoor Point.

The proposed development of a 2.5 acre piece of land off Hardwick Road will create 13 industrial units totalling 27,395 sq ft. Construction is expected to start towards the end of 2021.

Astmoor Point’s new units will cater to a range of businesses, with a combination of units to be made available for wholesale let as well as smaller individual spaces for micro businesses.

Conveniently located next to the Mersey Gateway, the purpose-built industrial hub is already the base for a variety of local, national and international businesses.

FIREM’s investment in Astmoor Industrial Estate has increased in recent years, with more than 111,590 sq ft of refurbishments completed to date. The projects, totalling £1.4m, have been undertaken as part of FIREM’s strategy to enhance the estate’s desirability.

A FIREM spokesperson said: “Having worked closely with Halton Council for a number of years, we understand how integral investments like these are to the local economy and to the community’s employment prospects.

“Forming part of the wider Masterplan for the area, these quality units will, undoubtedly, attract new business to Runcorn, as we’re already seeing a continued demand for modern units on the estate and more broadly across the region.

“Crucially, these new spaces will lend themselves to businesses of varying sizes – from small start-ups to trade counter outfits requiring excellent roadside prominence.”

They added: “Our commitment and enthusiasm for Astmoor has never dwindled throughout the duration of our presence here, and we are delighted that we can now unlock even more potential from this fantastic site.”

Astmoor Industrial Estate sits within FIREM’s extensive UK 10m sq ft portfolio of commercial property comprising five million sq ft of industrial space, and a further 2.6 million sq ft of new-build property in the pipeline. Available spaces start from 500 sq ft to more imposing units of 80,000 sq ft.

Astmoor – and neighbouring Manor Park Industrial Estate – have units available to let from 3,285 sq ft-25,000 sq ft.
