Luxury brand Rituals makes its bow in city centre retail site

The Liverpool One retail centre has added another exclusive tenant to its roster.

Property group Grosvenor, which owns the city centre site, has announced the opening of Rituals, the luxury bath, body and home brand. It is the first Rituals in the city.

Located on South John Street, the 1,700 sq ft store stocks the brand’s full range of products, ranging from skin and body care, to scented candles and fragrance sticks.

The opening also marks the first store opening of the year for Liverpool One in 2022. The launch follows a hugely successful 2021, during which the destination welcomed major names such as OMEGA, Castore and Bershka, plus saw an impressive 8.2% increase in sales compared with the same period in 2019, outperforming the UK’s overall figure of two per cent.

Penny Grivea, managing director for UK & Ireland at Rituals, said: “We are so excited to have opened at Liverpool One, our debut store in the city.

“As we continue to expand our retail footprint across the country, Liverpool One will be a key location for us, as the destination has both a strong, loyal customer base, as well as the ability to continuously attract visitors from across the country and internationally.”

Alison Clegg, managing director, asset management, Grosvenor, said: “Rituals is a great addition to our continually evolving wellness and premium lifestyle offering, providing a quality choice for shoppers and solidifying our position as one of the UK’s leading retail and leisure destinations.”

The opening follows the news that Russell and Bromley, the premium British footwear and handbag brand has signed for a new 3,000 sq ft store, also to be located on South John Street.

Metis and CBRE acted for Liverpool One. Harper Dennis Hobbs acted for Rituals.
