Land deal paves the way for 67 new homes near Ashton-in-Makerfield

Housebuilder Miller Homes is set to begin work on one of its latest schemes after completing the acquisition of land near Ashton-in-Makerfield.

The Scottish group will build 67 homes at Eston View, an area off Bryn Green Avenue, comprising sustainable three- and four-bedroomed dwellings, with 10% being earmarked as affordable homes.

Full planning consent has already been granted. The homes will comprise a range of styles, including Overton, Eaton, and Hazelwood.

A sales centre is expected to open later this summer, with show homes set to open in the autumn.

The development is a third of a mile from Landgate School and almost four miles from Wigan town centre. It offers close access to the M6 via the A49.

Jonathan Steggles, land director for Miller Homes, said: “Wigan is an aspirational and popular area.

“By the time the development it is complete, it will bring 67 new family homes to the town, creating jobs and improving livelihood in the process.”
