Hi-tech energy-saving products will drive growth for Stockport firm

Enviroheat's EconoCylinder

A Stockport energy specialist is anticipating revenues of £1.3m by next year, based on its new energy-saving product.

Enviroheat HET is one of several organisations pitching ideas to the Energy Innovation Agency, which is launching at Bruntwood Circle Square tomorrow (April 28) to help commercialise energy innovations and products that will help Greater Manchester to achieve carbon neutrality by 2038.

The company was founded in 2011 by a group of engineers, including one who worked at the CERN Large Hadron Collider, the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator, based in Switzerland.

The business’s new low energy hot water cylinder – the EconoCylinder – reduces the amount of electricity needed to heat water by up to 40%.

It follows the breakthrough design of the EconoRad low energy radiator, which also achieves a similar reduction in energy use.

Enviroheat HET was established with the belief that cutting edge technology will be the answer to reducing energy consumption and eliminating fuel poverty.

With the roll-out of the EconoCylinder under way, Enviroheat is now turning is attention to how its existing product range and variations of its core Unique Selling Point (USP) can contribute to an acceleration of the UK’s net zero transition.

Luke Cronshaw, Enviroheat director, said: “Not many small businesses can say they have expertise like ours behind them.

“As well as our founding team of international engineers, we’re very lucky to have Cédrick Grandbois as our technical director and chief engineer. He’s a former leader of the R&D engineering team at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.

“Having that kind of connection here in Greater Manchester is great for the prospects of the business and we’re excited about what the future holds.

“We’ll be pitching some brand new innovations to the Energy Innovation Agency this month and welcome the chance to play our part in Greater Manchester’s journey to net zero.”

The firm has had backing from GC Business Growth Hub, part of the Growth Company and part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, to help develop its brand and products, secure funding and increase sales.
