Burnley logistics business drives south with 23rd deal in eight years

EFS Global

Burnley-headquartered logistics business EFS Global has acquired ILS, a southern-based transport business and its subsidiaries, its 23rd acquisition since 2015.

The latest deal sees EFS increase its coverage of logistics depots to 35 across England and Scotland.

Buying Sussex Pallet Services and Independent Logistic Solutions Limited brings over 40 people into the business and is all part of EFS Global’s plans to implement a strategy of building on what has already been achieved by ILS over the past few years.

It further consolidates the group’s position in the South East region after it purchased sister companies Eminence Transport Ltd and Floryn Ltd last year which are located Kent.

Jordan Kellett, Group Strategy Director at EFS Global who led on the deal, said: “We are thrilled to have ILS & Sussex Pallet Services join our ever-growing group – especially as they share our core value of always offering a high-quality service to customers. Their location will help to extend our Southern presence from Kent into East Sussex which will be a fantastic foundation for future planned growth.”

Sonio Singh, DBF

The deal, like previous EFS acquisitions, was advised on by law firm Davis Blank Furniss, led by Sonio Singh, partner and head of corporate, who advised on all elements of the deal including legal due diligence and transactional matters. It also included Lauren Sever, corporate and commercial senior associate, and Shiva Shadi, partner, who advised on employment matters.

Sonio Singh added: “We were delighted to once again support EFS Global and I’m confident this new acquisition will add real value and geographical benefit as it continues to grow its reach and network around the country.”
