New 51-home Bispham housing scheme will include affordable offering

CGI of plans for The Groves

Preston-based Create Homes has received full planning permission for a new housing development in Bispham, near Blackpool, Poulton-Le-Fylde and Thornton-Cleveleys.

The new development is situated off Faraday Way, to the west of the seaside town. Create Homes secured the planning permission from Blackpool & Wyre Councils to build 51 new homes, which will provide much needed quality housing opportunities for the area. Work started on site last month (July).

‘The Groves’, Bispham will offer quality three- and four-bedroom homes under the new Create Homes and Executive collection brand.

With a range of popular Create Homes house types, plus some new designs having been created especially for the development, the company says there will be a wide choice of quality homes for every age and type of family.

The council received funding from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities via its Land Release Fund towards infrastructure costs to help open up the site to meet local housing needs.

Cllr Mark Smith, cabinet member for levelling up – place, said: “Creating new, high quality homes is a key priority for the council, we are delighted that we have been able to release land for this development to go ahead.

“The scheme has received money from the Department of Levelling Up Homes and Communities’ Land Release Fund to enable a new traffic system to be implemented, improving the road access and opening up the land for these 51 new homes to be built.”

As part of the development, there will be 16 affordable homes built in partnership with Great Places, which will provide quality rental opportunities for locals to access.

Nick Gornall, director of development at Great Places, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Create Homes on our first joint project. The Groves is the start of what we hope will be a growing partnership and will deliver 16 much-needed affordable homes as part of this exciting new mixed tenure development.

“This is one of the current sites we have in Blackpool, where we have a strong local presence with a local based team managing over 1,200 homes in the area.”

Paul Mathison, CEO at Create Homes, said: “Following the success of our developments in Inskip, Pilling, Longton, Longridge & Elswick, I am really delighted to be bringing another quality housing development to Bispham.”
