Birchall Blackburn boosts regional footprint

NORTH West law firm Birchall Blackburn Solicitors, has boosted its regional footprint with a merger with a small, long-standing Chorley practice.

The Preston-based firm, which has more than 200 staff at offices in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Lancashire, has joined forces with Kevill Kirkham & Grayson.

Although now part of the growing Birchall Blackburn group, the name of Kevill Kirkham & Grayson, which dates back to 1897, will be retained in recognition of the firm’s heritage and reputation in the Chorley area.

As a result of the merger, Birchall Blackburn welcomes former partners, Richard Grayson, who will remain with the practice as a consultant and Neil Saunt as a solicitor.

Catherine MacCracken, partner and head of private client at Birchall Blackburn Solicitors, said, “The staff and partners of Birchall Blackburn are delighted to be working with Richard, Neil and their dedicated team at KKG”.

“By combining the wealth of experience and dedication to client care of KKG with the breadth of skills and forward thinking of Birchall Blackburn, we will be able to offer the people and businesses of Chorley and the surrounding area a full range of expert legal services, on their doorstep”.

Richard Grayson, added:  “We are delighted to join the Birchall Blackburn group and to be able to offer a wider range of legal services to our loyal client base and all from our town centre premises. It is a very exciting time for our clients, the company, its staff and partners and we very much look forward to the future.

The Chorley team has also been strengthened by the appointment of Rosemary Johns. Johns,  a solicitor who specialises in private client work, will be based at KKG’s office at High Street Chambers. She joins from Irwin Mitchell in Manchester but has previously worked for Birchall Blackburn in Preston.
