Brazennose House scheme approved

PRUPIM’s plans to create more than 150,000 sq ft of Grade A office space at its rebuilt Brazennose House scheme in Manchester city centre received unanimous approval at a planning committee meeting last week.

Its new building, overlooking Lincoln Square, will also contain 3,600 sq ft of retail and 4,800 sq ft of restaurant space at ground floor level. A new public piazza is also being created in front of the ‘Hidden Gem’ St. Mary’s Church.

William Rooke at PRUPIM said: “This decision provides yet another jigsaw piece in support of the City’s regeneration strategy and inward investment objectives. The influx of some 1,250 new employees in the redeveloped Brazennose House will have a hugely positive regenerative effect on this important commercial area.”

Jones Lang LaSalle has been instructed to find a pre-let for the building. It is expected that demolition could begin in spring 2012 with completion anticipated around summer 2014.
