Peel prepares to start work in Wigan

MANCHESTER property group Peel is preparing to begin work on Astley Business Park in Wigan.

Infrastructure works will start at the 40-acre site close to the East Lancashire Road next month. Peel has planning consent for 340,000 sq ft of offices and industrial development.

Cloverleaf pubs has also committed to a new development fronting the site which will open next spring.

Peel development manager Matthew Fitton said: “In a particularly difficult market it is encouraging to be able to launch a scheme with a commitment to commence infrastructure works and also announce the arrival of Cloverleaf pubs.”

Peel is one of the most influential property businesses in the region and owns the Trafford Centre and Manchester Ship Canal.
