Bike insurer begins recruitment drive

INSURANCE broker Carole Nash has just completed a major recruitment drive which has seen it take on 115 new staff in recent weeks.

The Altrincham-based company, which specialises in providing cover for motorbike owners and classic car enthusiasts, now employs more than 350 staff at three sites in Altrincham and at an office in Dublin. It has also just embarked on a £120,000 refit of its main Altrincham office.

Following its investment, the firm was visited by Altrincham and Sale MP Graham Brady, who toured the company’s headquarters to meet new staff and then held a private meeting with the company’s board to discuss issues affecting the company, such as motorbike licensing requirements.

The company’s chief executive, David Newman, said: “We were delighted that Mr. Brady was able to find time in his busy diary to see Carole Nash in action and to discuss with the board issues that impact our operations.

“He clearly already had good knowledge of a business which has grown profitably and created hundreds of jobs in Altrincham since he was elected, but there’s no substitute for first-hand experience.”

Carole Nash was founded in a Timperley kitchen in 1985 but now makes profits of £5.9m a year on sales of over £23.8m. It was bought by French insurance company Groupama in a deal worth more than £80m five years ago, and has recently been put up for sale alongside other Groupama UK assets including insurance broker Bollington.
