Recruiter spots a gap in the market

WREXHAM-based recruiter Gap Personnel is to open an office in Manchester.

The new office will be run by Ross Sullivan, who took over the running of the company’s Warrington branch in November 2009. Prior to that, he was a former commercial and marketing executive at rugby league side Warrington Wolves.

The 31-year-old, who has now been promoted to area manager, said: “Expansion into Manchester represents a natural progression for us, and I am honoured to be overseeing it.

“With the Airport City scheme set to create thousands of jobs as the focal point of the new Manchester Enterprise Zone, and momentum gathering behind the £560m Northern Hub plan, these are exciting times for Manchester.

“Gap wants to be a part of that and I am confident we are bringing something different to the city’s competitive recruitment market.”

The company supplies temporary workers to firms in a range of sectors including manufacturing, warehousing, waste management, recycling and food production.

Gap personnel managing director Gary Dewhurst added: “Gap is now firmly established across the North West and it makes sense to target the region’s biggest market.”

The company’s turnover in 2011 was £60m and it is forecasting sales of £75m for 2012. The firm’s other North West branches include Liverpool, Crewe and Preston.
