Appointments: Hough’s Preston Guild role; Medisec; SAS Daniels

LEADING businessman Robert Hough has been appointed as an ambassador’ for Preston Guild 2012.
The Guild – held once every 20 years- is an historic celebration of Preston’s cultural, commercial and artistic heritage.
Mr Hough, currently chairman of the North West Development Agency, will use his ontacts and knowledge to help spread the word about the value to the businesses of supporting the event.
He said: “Guild 2012 is an invaluable opportunity for companies in the area to get involved and show people what the city has to offer,” he said.
“Preston will see an extra 1.5 million visitors during the Guild celebrations, who will be an ideal audience to buy local products and services and spread the word across the UK and beyond. Besides this, businesses should be doing their bit to show their pride in Preston and support such a historic, once-in-a-generation event.
Councillor Peter Rankin, leader of Preston City Council, added: “We have already had widespread interest from businesses in the area about how they can get involved with Guild 2012 and take advantage of some of the additional £35m spend which the region will see during the year.”

CERI Rothwell has been promoted at Cheshire-based Medisec Software to the new role of client relationship director.
She has worked for the Tarporley company in various business development and project management roles for seven years.
Commenting on her new role: “With NHS budgets under pressure, the case for efficiency and cost-saving electronic correspondence and digital dictation systems is now more compelling than ever. I’m delighted to have been appointed as a director during what is a particularly exciting time for the company.”

LAW firm SAS Daniels has appointed experience professional services marketer Laura Parkinson as its business development director.
The 36-year-old. who has worked for DLA Piper and Brabners Chaffe Street, has also joined the Cheshire firm’s partnership. Most recently she has been running her own consultancy.
She said: SAS Daniels has already proved itself to be a nimble and dynamic firm – qualities which are essential in a changing legal market.
