New Moon opens Knutsford venue

CHEF David Mooney has launched a new restaurant in Knutsford with ex-Living Ventures director Paul Newman through their New Moon Pub Company joint venture.
Mr Mooney, who worked for 21 years in the town at his family’s Belle Epoque restaurant before setting up the Lord Binning in Kelsall, has opened the Old Sessions House alongside Mr Newman.
The pair have taken over the former Red Cow pub which they plan to convert into a dining-led pub following a £250,000 investment. Around 20-30 new jobs will also be created at the venue.
Mr Newman, who was responsible for the launch of Living Ventures’ Gusto brand in Knutsford, said: “We’re excited to bring our new brand of dining experience to the area and we know it will meet the strict criteria for excellence demanded by local diners.”
Mr Mooney said the venue would used locally-sourced products where possible and stock its own unique ales produces by the Tatton Brewery.
“There are so many wonderful producers on our doorstep…. Willington Farm Apple Juice and Delamere Goats Cheese to name two,” he said.
