Plans in for final piece of Liverpool One jigsaw

A PLANNING application has been submitted for the last undeveloped plot of land in the Paradise Street Development Area, which became Liverpool ONE.
Portside House (Seel Street), a company owned by Ormskirk-based Geoffrey Wilkinson, has applied for consent to build three blocks with 305 “student accommodation studios” and ground floor retail.
The area, known as “site 22” sits between Seel Street and Fleet Street, behind the Premier Inn on Hanover Street.
The application is being handled by the Manchester-based Planning Studio.
In a planning document it said: “The proposal represents a major economic investment into the acclaimed Liverpool One urban regeneration development and will deliver the final piece of a complex development jigsaw linking Liverpool One with the adjoining Rope Walks cultural and entertainment area that characterises the area between Bold Street and Duke Street to the east and west of the site.”
