Welsh island on the market for £140,000

A CHANCE has come up to acquire a small island in the Menai Strait, Anglesey.

The island, which has planning permission to redevelop a boatyard, has a guide price of £140,000

It is one of 83 lots at Sutton Kersh’s final Merseyside property auction this year.

It said it had enjoyed a strong year with a selling average of 78% raising £25.8m from 395 sales.

Auction manager Cathy Holt said: “The auction market has really picked up this year and we have seen a significant improvement in the quality of lots being offered, bidding levels and sales figures.”

Sutton Kersh’s first auction of 2013 will take place on the February 14.
