Chamber date for Jimmy Carr and Kellogg’s chief

COMEDIAN Jimmy Carr, whose personal tax arrangements drew so much scrutiny last year, is the star-turn at Greater Manchester Chamber’s annual dinner this year.

In what is an impressive line-up, the Chamber has also secured Jonathan Myers, Western Europe vice president at cereal manufacturer Kellogg’s and Cabinet minister Rt Hon Danny Alexander MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, as speakers.

For the first time in six years the Chamber has moved the venue from Manchester Central, opting for The Point at Lancashire County Cricket Club for this year’s event.

Chamber chief executive Clive Memmott said:”Building on the success of previous years, we’ll be bringing together a prominent politician, one of our key business leaders and one of the most popular comedians around; a combination that’s bound to make for a highly enjoyable and entertaining evening.”

The event last year was attended by more than 700 business leaders and  politicians from across the North West. This year it will take place on May 30.
