BUSINESS outsourcing company Oceans Connect, is creating 200 jobs on Merseyside with the relocation of its existing North West base and its London HQ to Speke.
The firm, founded by Indian entrepreneur Adarsh Sethia, is currently based at The Heath in Runcorn, but is moving the short distance to Speke after receiving a £1.3m Grant for Business Investment from the North West Development Agency.
Oceans Connect is a leading outsourcing provider, offering call centre and other functions to its customers.
Steven Broomhead, chief executive of the NWDA, said: “This investment is great news for the Liverpool city region and the agency is pleased to support the company’s decision to locate its headquarters in Speke.
“This relocation will make a real difference to the local community, creating over 200 new employment opportunities as well as safeguarding existing jobs.
“Oceans Connect is also committed to investing in skills and training for its employees and so will add significant value to the local area.”
Howard Sarna, chief executive of Oceans Connect, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our investment in the Liverpool area.
“The positive experience we’ve had with our initial operation, coupled with the help and support provided by the NWDA and local partners, has led us to decide to locate our company headquarters in Speke.
“An educated and plentiful workforce, good building availability and a strong transport network makes the area around Liverpool Airport an ideal location for us to develop our business.”
It is the second boost for Merseyside in as many days with American company ServiceSource revealing plans for a new base in Liverpool, which will create more than 250 jobs.
