Mayr-Melnhof Packaging site on the market

AUSTRIAN group Mayr-Melnhof Packaging has put its former factory in Liverpool on the market.
It stopped production at the site in Aintree last year, with the loss of 109 jobs, blaming the economy.
Now B8 Real Estate and Cushman & Wakefield have been appointed to sell the 160,000 sq ft building that sits on a 8.6-acre site.
Jonathan Thorne of Warrington-based B8 said: “We are looking at a number of disposal options for the site which include sales to owner occupiers who will continue business operations on the site, businesses with storage requirements given the site’s proximity to the Port of Liverpool and M57/M58 motorway network, and developers looking at redevelopment angles given that it sits adjacent to the Switch Retail & Leisure Park.
“We are currently talking to a number of parties on the disposal and have priced the site sensibly in order to generate interest but would welcome discussing further any requirements with any other industrial parties who might be out there.”
