Globe completes £3m housing association HQ

GLOBE Construction has completed a 24,000 sq ft headquarters building for Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT) in Warrington town centre.

Designed by The Fairhursts Design Group, the building was officially yesterday.

The £3m project was developed on a brownfield site next to Bank Park. It will be home to 180 staff who are moving from Bank House on Sankey Street.

Globe director Ian Threadgold said: “We are delighted to have been able to construct and deliver the new home for Golden Gates Housing Trust. It is the first phase of a much wider regeneration plan for the Bank Park area and we look forward to seeing further development over the coming years.

“Seeing the client take occupation of the building has been great and we are proud to have been a part of the official opening, which has welcomed staff, the Council and the public onto the completed site for the first time.”

The wider project team includes Watts Group acting as employer’s agent, Scott Hughes as structural engineer, King Associates for M&E, and Walker Sime as quantity surveyor.

Rupert Barron, director of the offices team at Colliers in Manchester, identified and acquired the site from Warrington Borough Council on behalf of Golden Gates.
