New Balance HQ in Birchwood move

TRAINER maker New Balance is moving its European headquarters from Warrington to nearby Birchwood.

The US-based firm has agreed a 10-year lease at Appleton House at Birchwood Point Business Park, taking on all of the 30,600 sq ft building which was previously occupied by the Environment Agency.

New Balance is currently based at Firecrest Court, at Center Park, south of the town.

CBRE represented New Balance and Savills acted for the landlord, Aviva. CBRE’s building consultancy team has been appointed to design and manage the fit-out which will be finished by the end of the summer ahead of a September move.

Michelle Rothwell, senior surveyor at CBRE’s Manchester office, said: “We conducted an extensive search on behalf of New Balance and Appleton House matched their requirement for a stand-alone headquarter building with potential to create the modern working environment they are seeking to reflect the nature of their brand.”

The rent at Appleton House is around £15/sq ft.
