Ask’s Eden Square under offer

ASK Developments’ Eden Square is under offer to a UK-based institutional investor.

The deal covers the 60,000 sq ft shopping centre in Urmston, Greater Manchester, which is 95% let, and a car park.

The scheme, which was a 50/50 joint venture with Trafford Council, also included a 80 apartments, which have been sold and a Sainsbury’s which the supermarket chain has already acquired.

In a separate deal Ask has sold the ground rent to the supermarket to Standard Life.

Ask development director Leon Guyett told TheBusinessDesk.com it took 10 years to develop the site because of the recession.

He said: “We stuck with it and delivered it, and Trafford are really pleased with that. A lot of other developers may have walked away from it. It’s great to walk away having completed the development.”

The value of the sale, and the identity of the buyer, have not been disclosed.
