Fleetwood Town training facility approved

PLANS have been approved for 110 houses and a new Fleetwood Town training ground on playing fields that are home to Thornton Cleveleys FC.

The club will move to the new complex at Poolfoot Farm, adjacent to the housing.

Manchester-based HOW Planning handled the application on behalf of Roland Homes and landowner NPL Estates.

Partner Richard Woodford said: “We worked closely with Rowland Homes and landowners NPL Estates to ensure that all existing playing field land is retained and relocated into the new community sports complex. The decision benefits all parties as it not only enables the development of Bourne Way, but also enables the future growth of the football club.”

The sports facility will include a full size synthetic pitch along with grass pitches, changing rooms, classrooms and other facilities.
