Morgan Sindall wins £6.1m school contract

CONSTRUCTION firm Morgan Sindall has won a £6.1m contract to build a new primary school in Southdene, Kirkby.

The firm, which has offices in Enterprise Way, Liverpool, is replacing the existing Park Brow Primary School in Broad Lane, which lies adjacent to the new site, with a 30,000 sq ft modern learning space with a central, open-plan auditorium space.

The firm will also build a covered external play decking area. New external sports pitches, playing fields and a multi-use games area will also be included.

“We are thrilled to be part of this exciting project at Park Brow Primary School,” says Barry Roberts, Morgan Sindall area director.

“We are always keen to minimise our carbon footprint as much as we can on all of our construction sites and therefore we will be looking to use local suppliers and subcontractors wherever possible. We hope the local community will enjoy watching their new school take shape over the next year.”

The project is due to be completed in August 2011.
