Prospect Estates takes on GE’s former Widnes base

YORKSHIRE-based Prospect Estates has acquired GE’s old base in Widnes and is refurbishing it for general business use.

The 24-acre site in Foundry Lane has been rebranded as Widnes Business Park offering refurbished industrial space available up to 125,000 sq ft and offices ranging in size to 40,000 sq ft.

The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed. The sale was handled by CBRE.

Warrington-based BE Group and Cushman & Wakefield have bene appointed to market the property.

Richard Sherwood of Widnes Business Park, said: “It is encouraging to see a good level of demand from local occupiers at this early stage in the marketing drive. A comprehensive refurbishment strategy of the estate is well underway, with the majority of works to be completed before the end of the year.”

BE Group’s Simon Roddam said: “The variety of commercial space available at Widnes Business Park includes industrial warehousing, storage land and office accommodation. We have a flexible size mix available which enables us to accommodate a broad range of business requirements.”
