LSH moves to Spinningfields

LAMBERT Smith Hampton is to move from the office building on Mosley Street in Manchester City centre that has been its home for 75 years into new space at 3 Hardman St in the Spinningfields district.

The firm is sub-letting 10,000 sq ft of the 35,000 sq ft taken on by accountancy firm BDO last year.

Lambert Smith Hampton said that it was the first surveying practice to take space at the building after signing a 13-year sublease with BDO, although it joins other professional firms in the building such as Pinsent Masons and Barclays Corporate.

Roger Tunnicliffe, head of LSH’s Manchester office, said: “Mosley Street has served us well for almost 75 years and we will be sorry to leave it behind but, with the core business district in the city moving across to Spinningfields, we feel that the time was right for a move.”

“We pride ourselves on our local knowledge of the areas we operate in and our strong portfolio of locally-based clients.  By immersing ourselves at the heart of Manchester’s vibrant new professional district, the new office will enable us to further develop these key areas of our business.”

Drivers Jonas Deloitte and OBI Property advised BDO on the deal.
