Vinden seals £800,000 apartments deal

A BOLTON firm of chartered surveyors has secured an £800,000 deal for the construction of 13 new apartments near Manchester.

The Vinden Partnership (Vinden) has agreed a contract with Baliss Properties for the 7,800 sq ft scheme in Failsworth.

Vinden says the construction will encompass the area’s historic image by using similar brick tones to the surrounding properties, while still containing modern amenities.

The project was also developed with key sustainable specifications in mind, the company has also said.

Senior consultant at Vinden, Paul Collings, said: “Housing developments were one of the hardest hit under invested sectors in the recession.

“As we begin to see investment pick up and the regeneration of Manchester becomes a key focus, there is a renewed willingness to invest in affordable housing for the suburbs.

“It’s particularly encouraging to see traditional towns such as Failsworth creating modern apartment designs, and this new development promises to deliver a new housing option for people who want to live outside Manchester.”

Paul Cook, of Baliss Properties, added: “The priority on this project was to combine different styles and create quality, affordable housing, conflating the traditional aspects of the town with the modern requirements of builds today.”
