Administrators appointed to Red Chilli

CANTONESE restaurant group Red Chilli has been placed into administration, it emerged today.
Handford-based insolvency firm Beesley Corporate Solutions was been appointed to handle the insolvency on April 24 and is marketing the business for sale.
At least one of Red Chilli’s four restaurants, the site on the corner of Portland Street and Nicholas Street, on the edge of Chinatown, is closed.
A statement on the company’s website said: “Portland Street restaurant will be closed for refurbishments until the end of May. In the meantime please use our Oxford Road restaurant. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
The restaurants, which serve Beijing and Sichuan dishes, have won several awards, including a national title of ‘Britain’s Favourite Chinese Restaurant’ at the 2012 Tsingtao Legacy Of Taste Awards.
Accounts for Red Chilli Restaurant Ltd for the year to May 2014 showed net liabilities of £470,570.
