Housebuilder launches luxury homes and ploughs £1m into community

HOMEBUILDER David Wilson Homes has launched a new luxury residential development of 98 homes in Wilmslow.
In addition to the development at Bollin Park, on Adlington Road, DWH, together with consortium house builder, Jones Homes, will contribute a significant financial investment for the benefit of the immediate locality, worth in excess of £1m.
This includes an educational contribution of £425,000 towards the provision of secondary education in the area, £546,000 for improvements to nearby public open space facilities and towards improved recreational and outdoor sports facilities, such as new football pitches and playing fields close to the site, and £30,000 has been provided for habitat creation/enhancement works nearby.
In response to the community consultation, a new footpath is to be built along Adlington Road where there isn’t one currently, as well as widen the current footpath in some parts as a safety measure.
DWH’s homes at Bollin Park offers a mix of four, five bedroom properties.
From distinctive exteriors to new elevations and stylish interior features, the properties at Bollin Park are aspirational and will appeal to a broad spectrum of buyers, exceeding all expectations.
David Wilson Homes’ North West Sales Director, Steve Jackson, said: “Bollin Park is the first development in Wilmslow for David Wilson Homes which allows us to showcase the brand in a flourishing area, where we believe there is a considerable appetite for exclusive homes.
“These bespoke properties have been designed with great care, taking inspiration from the local architecture and charming Cheshire surroundings. We also take great pride in the wider community investment we bring to the area. Supporting the infrastructure of the places in which we build is an integral part of our business ethos.”
Homes at Bollin Park are available for sale from £524,500.
Meanwhile, DWH has also submitted plans to build 408 homes on the former Manchester Metropolitcan University Alsager campus.
The full planning application to Cheshire East Council follows a comprehensive pre-application consultation process involving public exhibitions, Sport England, local sports groups, residents and councillors.
Since the closure of the Alsager Campus, Manchester Met has appointed DWH North West to redevelop the land for residential use.
As part of the scheme, DWH is providing extensive sporting facilities for the local community.
The vision is to create a high quality, urban extension that helps to meet the housing needs of Cheshire East.
DWH says development of the site will represent an efficient use of land with high quality design creating a genuine community and an attractive environment with a strong sense of place.
Planning director Andrew Taylor said: “Cheshire East Council has long earmarked this site for redevelopment.
“The principle of the site is therefore already established and we believe we have put forward a development plan which will realise the Council’s vision for the town.
“The proposed development has been very carefully thought through to ensure that it delivers not only a good choice of high quality homes in a sought after area, but will make a significant economic contribution in Cheshire East.
“In addition to the creation of construction jobs over the short to medium term period, the high quality sports facilities will benefit the people of Alsager for generations to come.”
John Cunningham, director of finance at Manchester Metropolitan University, said: “We are pleased that the planning process is moving ahead for the development of the former University site in Alsager.
“Our development partners DWH have proposed a scheme that balances Alsager’s housing needs with the provision of a hub of sporting excellence, and will provide a lasting, positive legacy for the site.”
