Cycling firm invests £500k in online bike builder

CYCLE retailer and manufacturer Ribble Cycles has invested £500,000 in a redesigned website.

The site features a completely updated and modernised version of Ribble’s Bike Builder tool, allowing customers to fully personalise their carbon road bike by choosing from a wide range of frames, components, add-ons and extras.

The website also offers a cleaner and more responsive design, with streamlined functionality and improved user friendliness, designed to improve navigation through a varied range of cycling products.

Ribble Cycles, which had a turnover of £16.8m last year, focuses on providing a bespoke offer for customers with its specifically customised carbon road bikes.

As well as manufacturing its own products, Ribble also supplies high performance bicycle parts from the world’s top cycling brands, including Shimano and Campagnolo.

The launch of a new website coincides with the appointment of Jon Owen as chief executive and Matthew Lawson as chief digital officer, both of whom joined the bicycle retailer at the start of this year.

Lawson said: “Ribble Cycles is truly paving the way in terms of creativity, customisation and innovation in our sector, and this is mirrored in ournew website and our customers’ improved online journey. The new site is revolutionary for the biking community due to our bike builder tool, and overall is much smarter and user-friendly.”
