Residenza homes snapped up

HILLCREST Homes, the luxury homebuilding arm of property developer Nikal, has secured off-plan sales for all 14 properties at its Residenza development on George Leigh Street and Loom Street in Ancoats, Manchester city centre.

Designed in partnership with Calderpeel Architects, the development is aimed predominately at families and incorporates red brick and slate materials so as to blend in with the existing late 19th century terraced properties in the immediate area.

Two rows of seven four-storey townhouses are under construction, each providing 1,496sq ft of internal living accommodation, including four bedrooms, a double garage and a first floor open garden deck plus front and rear balconies off the guest and master bedrooms.

The houses were released for sale in late April priced from £425,000 with reservations for all fourteen homes secured by the start of August.  Construction is due for completion in the new-year.

Hillcrest development executive Simone Milner said: “The area has enjoyed extensive regeneration in recent years but the offering has focused mainly on new apartments.

“We identified there was a market for family homes in this location and worked with Calderpeel to develop a scheme that complemented the neighbouring homes on George Leigh Street, possibly the prettiest and best kept street in all of Ancoats.

“Demand for homes at Residenza has been high from the off set. Sales have been secured by young families as well as couples with older children who are downsizing to enjoy the perks of living in the city.

“The provision of secure parking in a private garage plus plenty of outside garden space was a particular attraction for buyers as these are features you usually only find in homes in the suburbs.”

Hillcrest will now turn its attention to delivering four new detached properties in the Cheshire farming village of Goostrey, one of which has already been sold on release.

Designed to look like converted barns from the outside, the development offers contemporary style open plan interiors with large expanses of glazing so residents can enjoy the far-reaching views over surrounding countryside.

The properties are priced from £725,000 and feature a choice of integrated double garage or detached car barn with first floor accommodation for a home office, playroom or store room.

Also coming up for Hillcrest this year is the delivery of 59 apartments at Altair, Nikal’s £70m new residential and leisure quarter in Altrincham city centre.
