Constructor lands £15.6m ground maintenance contract

CONSTRUCTION firm ForWorks has secured a £15.6m contact to deliver grounds maintenance work in Salford.

The North West-based business will manage more than 500 sites across the city for client City West Housing Trust, with work including the maintenance of green spaces and hedges, playground inspections, tree and shrubbery inspections and other operational work.

The team will also undertake the development of new and existing sites to enhance the local environment.

The contract, which will run over 13 years, will allow ForWorks to create three new apprenticeships within its grounds maintenance team with a view to increasing this in the coming years, as well as take on 18 staff currently employed by the local authority.

Henry Terefenko, business development and commercial director at ForWorks, said: “This is another major contract that will allow ForWorks to continue our impressive growth in 2016.

“Our team brings a wealth of experience in working in the heart of communities across the North West while delivering a first class service for our customers.”

ForWorks has enjoyed unprecedented growth in 2016, having handed over its first new build development schemes and secured slots on three major frameworks in recent months.
