Peel submits plans for 300 new homes at Ellesmere Port

PEEL Investments (North), part of the Peel Holdings empire, has submitted an outline planning application to Cheshire West and Chester Council to redevelop almost 27 acres of brownfield land north of Ellesmere Port’s town centre.
The developer is seeking outline planning consent for a 26.8 acre scheme known as Rossfield Park North which will include some employment sites and up to 300 new family homes.
It said that the site, which has been vacant for more than ten years, would include new affordable housing as welll as potential for a odern high quality office development at a prominent gateway site into the town close to junction 8 of the M53.
The proposed site contains land located off Rossmore Road East, North Road and Poole Hall Road to the north of Ellesmere Port’s Town Centre. Peel said that it would add to the successful new Rossfield Park scheme built nearby by Wainhomes and Persimmon. It also argued that the site would provide a link betweek Rossfield Park and the nearby Pioneer Business Park .
Louise Morrissey, Director of Land and Planning at Peel said: “Key to Peel’s various developments and proposals is the aspiration to achieve a step change in the prosperity and image of Ellesmere Port as a great place to live and work.
“We believe that these proposals will help to achieve this and in doing so will support important on-going regeneration in the area.
“We believe that not only is this site suitable for residential development but that it will be attractive to housebuilders – increasing the chance of new development coming forward and therefore providing new homes that are needed.”
