Luxury care home opens with £6.6m funding deal

A luxury care home has opened in Bristol following a £6.6m funding package from HSBC UK.

The funding was used for the construction, landscaping and internal decoration of Arlington Grove – a 64-bed nursing home that will specialise in residential, nursing and dementia care for the Bristol community. It is located within the historic grounds once owned by the Hiatt Baker family,

The development has created 80 jobs openings which the business is still recruiting for now.

Ash Desai, director of Barker Care, said: “The support from HSBC UK has allowed us to open our newest care home, providing much needed support for the elderly community, and their families, in Bristol. The funding allowed us to add facilities and details that help us truly stand out in the market and provide a space where residents can socialise and feel at home.”

Lee Newman, relationship director at HSBC UK, added: “It has been a pleasure to support Barker Care to build this facility, which not only provides a significant number of job opportunities for the community but also enhances the quality of care available for our elderly population. With our long-standing history in supporting the care sector, it is exciting to see the business hit its next milestone.”

Barker Care is a part of the Cedar Care Group and is a family managed business operating since 1987. The business offers nursing and residential care homes in the UK.
